How to Remove the Extruder Motor
¶
Tools Needed: H1.5, H2, and H2.5 Wrenchs (Allen Keys)
First,
remove the extruder shell
.
Use a H2.5 hex wrench to remove the extrusion clip spring screw and the 2 screws under the clip.
Separate the extrusion clamp and the pneumatic joint. (Give it a clean if it’s dirty!)
Unplug the motor cable on the left side of the circuit board.
Use the H2 wrench to loosen the front bottom cover screws and remove the bottom cover.
Use the H2 wrench to loosen the 2 screws of the front model cooling fan. Unplug the left and right cooling fan cables and remove the cooling fan.
Use an H1.5 wrench to unscrew the screw on the air guide, and unplug the motor cable of the throat cooling fan.
Use the H2 wrench to loosen the 3 screws on the cooling fan on the right side of the extruder, and take out the throat cooling fan.
With the fan removed, Use the H to loosen the 2 screws under the pneumatic joint.
Remove the central motor, pneumatic joint, and extrusion clamp.
Use the H2 to loosen the screw behind the extrusion clamp.
At this stage, you should be able to separate the motor from the other side and expose the internal gear.
